Widespread music festivals with bright stage production in long, rolling feilds are cool and all, but electronic dance music is an urban sound. Its beats are the rhythm of struggling worker bees pounding pavement to make a buck. It’s a buzzy energy that flows through the neon night, and Los Angeles’ Secret Project festival honors those metropolitan roots by bringing some of the best house and techno DJs to the busy streets of the city’s Chinatown district.

What kicked off in 2018 continues this October with some very rare performances. German electro-punk duo Modeselektor will be in town to rock crowds with a live set, as will Âme’s Frank Wiedemann and KiNK. Four Tet will perform a DJ set, as will groove queen Honey Dijon, bilingual showstopper Peggy Gou, lo-fi house hero Mall Grab, Swiss tech-house duo Adriatique and so many more.

Special back-to-back sets are planned from Nina Kraviz and Helena Hauff, as well as Loco Dice and William Djoko. DJ Tennis is on the bill, as are Ben UFO, DāM-FunK, Jayda G and stage takeovers from A Club Called Rhonda, Bears In Space and more.

Produced by Insomniac Events, the same company behind EDM massives including Electric Daisy Carnival, Secret Project comes to LA’s Chinatown district Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13. Tickets are on sale now. Check the full lineup below.
