“Welcome to the Black Parade” and the My Chemical Romance sold-out reunion show had hundreds of Killjoys sleeping outside of Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall last night (Dec. 19) ahead of tonight. But the University of Southern California’s marching band warmed them up with their hearty instrumental rendition of the band’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 9 hit.

Matt Gale, MCR’s agent, posted the video on Instagram today, hours before the concert at 8:30 p.m. The cinematic visual features the university’s band glistening under the morning sun with their gold helmets and shiny instruments.

“See you tonight!! #Return @mychemicalromance #theshrineauditorium,” Gale captioned the post.

MCR fans were more than ready for the rock band’s only concert in 2019 and only show announced in the United States: Approximately 300 people were in line by 8:30 a.m., exactly 12 hours before the show, according to Morgan Smith, who was on the scene. She posted a picture of fans geared up with the “Devotion” blankets that were being passed out to the most devoted who had showed up by 6 a.m.
