As an act, K-pop quartet Mamamoo have dominated for several years as one of the South Korean music industry’s most prominent female pop acts, and recently the members have begun to explore their individual identity through solo releases. This Valentine’s Day sees Moonbyul arrive with her dynamic new song, “Eclipse.”

Bold in both sound and style, Moonbyul takes the stage with “Eclipse” and uses it to show off her duality as both a singer and rapper over its forceful melody and brash beats. Accompanied by the release of a captivating music video where the artist is seen both as a soldier and a queen, “Eclipse” revels in Moonbyul’s skills as a performer, and also continues Mamamoo’s legacy as an act that constantly relays different ideas of feminine strength through their music.

“Eclipse” is the lead single on Moonbyul’s second solo EP,  Dark Side of the Moon, also released on Friday (Feb. 14). She released her first solo single, “Selfish,” in 2018.
